S.Africa's Amplats says post-strike ramp up ahead of schedule

JOHANNESBURG, Oct 23 (Reuters) - Production at Anglo American Platinum's strike-hit Rustenburg, Union and Amandelbult mines resumed a month ahead of schedule in September, the platinum producer said on Thursday, as it recovers from a five-month walk-out earlier this year.

Amplats, a unit of Anglo American (LSE: AAL.L - news) , said refined platinum production fell 14 percent to 533,000 ounces in the third quarter of this year compared to the same period in 2013.
