American Mustache Institute Launches Mustache Hall of Fame
Nominations Open With 2014 Robert Goulet Mustached American of the Year Winner
PITTSBURGH, PA--(Marketwired - October 30, 2014) - The most important physical feature is finally receiving its own Hall of Fame.
To celebrate the long-standing rugged attractiveness of the global people of mustache and to combat the discrimination of those who adopt the superior attractiveness of facial hair, the American Mustache Institute today announced plans for the first-ever International Mustache Hall of Fame (MustacheHall.com), sponsored by Wahl Trimmers.
The International Mustache Hall Of Fame is now accepting nominations and will unveil its inaugural class on February 11, the birthday of one of the greatest Mustached Americans in history, Burt Reynolds.
"The global facial hair and attractiveness communities have been pining for a proper place to honor those who have brought great mustaches to our world," said Dr. Adam Paul Causgrove, chief executive of the American Mustache Institute. "We've been working with noted halls of fame honoring everything from baseball to hot dogs to ensure we provide an appropriate experience."
Initially the International Mustache Hall of Fame will be virtual (MustacheHall.com), but a search for a physical location, most likely in Pittsburgh where AMI is based, is presently under way.
Enshrinement into the Hall is perhaps the most arduous yet ruggedly attractive achievement among its peer organizations. It follows a deeply scientific process overseen through a partnership between the Dept. of Nuclear Mustacheology at the American Mustache Institute, the German-based Bertelsmann Foundation, the British-based Science and Technology Policy Research Institute and Wahl Trimmers.

Through Nov. 30, the general public -- including clean-shaven mortals -- may nominate worthy candidates for the International Hall of Fame, potentially including American and global leaders past and present, 80's television personalities, former pro wrestlers, at MustacheHall.com.
In December, the Hall of Fame Inductee Commission (HOFIC) will begin a thorough quantitative and qualitative analysis, as well as a background examination of each nominee.
The HOFIC will then break leading nominees into vertical categories from areas across humankind including politics, entertainment, business, sports, astrophysics, horseshoe fitting, and other segments of society.
On February 11 -- the birthday of Burt Reynolds -- the inaugural inductees will be announced in a glorious ceremony befit of a sexually dynamic person of mustache.
The Hall of Fame groundbreaking announcement comes on the heels of AMI announcing the winner of the 2014 Robert Goulet Memorial Mustached American of the Year award winner -- facial hair advocate Stephen "Dash" Brown of Richmond, Virginia -- who as a Goulet award winner will also be among the first class of inductees.
"This is by far the most important day of my life," said Brown, donning his Goulet award crown at 'Stache Bash 2014 in Richmond. "I am honored to join those who have come before me and look forward to my place in the newly announced International Mustache Hall of Fame."
Determined by popular vote and now in its seventh year, the Robert Goulet Memorial Mustached American of the Year is not a best mustache contest, but is awarded to the person who is deemed to best represent the Mustached American community.
Past Goulet award winners include retired New York City police detective Tim Galvin (2008), professional baseball player Clay Zavada (2009), Orlando-area firefighter Brian Sheets (2010), professional baseball player John Axford (2011), Causgrove (2012), who at the time was not affiliated with AMI, and in 2013 Montgomery County (Pennsylvania) County Clerk D. Bruce Hanes and woodworking craftsman David Stine of St. Louis.
