TREASURY SHARES - TRANSFERS
In accordance with Listing Rule 12.6.4, Anglo American plc announces that 868 ordinary shares were transferred from treasury on 15 May 2012, in respect of the grant and vesting of awards under the Company's share plans.
A total of 22,125,994 new ordinary shares were allotted between 15 May 2012 and 16 May 2012 in respect of the early redemption of the 4% Convertible Bonds due 2014 (pursuant to the notice to bondholders announced via RNS on 23 March 2012 and the Block Listing announced via RNS on 16 April 2012).
Following these transactions, Anglo American plc has a total of 15,391,641 ordinary shares held in treasury and a total of 1,362,709,471 ordinary shares in issue, excluding treasury shares.
