BP says to complete Australia refinery maintenance end-June
SINGAPORE, May 9 (Reuters) - BP (LSE: BP.L - news) said on Friday it would complete regular maintenance at its Kwinana refinery on Australia's western coast by late June.
"Maintenance generally lasts two months," the spokesman said in an email, adding that there would be no material change to the refinery's crude slate or throughput.
"BP's ongoing investment in Kwinana is a sign of the company's commitment to refining in Australia," the spokesman said.
The 146,000 barrel-per-day Kwinana refinery remained a key part of the company's growth strategy in Australia, despite its announcement to permanently shut its Bulwer refinery by mid-2015. (Reporting by Florence Tan; Editing by Clarence Fernandez)
