BP Whiting fire confined to gasoline unit hydrotreater - sources
HOUSTON, Aug 28 (Reuters) - A Wednesday night fire at BP Plc's Whiting, Indiana refinery, the company's largest U.S. plant, was confined to a hydrotreating unit for a gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit, trade and industry sources said on Thursday.
BP (LSE: BP.L - news) early on Thursday said production continued at the 413,500 barrel per day (bpd) refinery during the two hours it took to extinguish the blaze. The company has said it expects minimal impact to production from the fire.
A BP spokesman declined on Thursday to discuss on which unit the fire broke out. (Reporting By Erwin Seba and Kristen Hays; Editing by Terry Wade)
