BP Whiting hydrotreater restarts; was shut by Aug fire -sources
HOUSTON, Sept 22 (Reuters) - BP Plc restarted a hydrotreating unit (HTU) serving a gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit over the weekend at the company's 413,500 barrel per day (bpd) Whiting, Indiana refinery for the first time since an Aug. 27 fire, said sources familiar with operations at the refinery.
The sources said the unit was moving to full production levels on Monday. The unit was shut when a fire broke out on the night of Aug. 27 in a compressor on the HTU.
A BP spokesman declined to discuss operations at the refinery on Monday. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by James Dalgleish)
