HOUSTON, Aug 4 (Reuters) - BP Plc plans to overhaul a crude distillation unit and a gasoline-producing unit at the 413,500 barrel per day (bpd) Whiting, Indiana refinery beginning in mid-September, according to sources familiar with the company's plans.

The 90,000 bpd CDU, the second-largest of three at the refinery, and the 110,000 bpd fluidic catalytic cracking unit are to be shut through the end of October for the work, the sources said. (Reporting by Erwin Seba, editing by G Crosse)
