BUZZ-Afren: oil producer hits 3-year lows

** Oil producer Afren (LSE: AFR.L - news) sinks to near 3-year lows as production falls, hurt by delays at key projects in Nigeria.

** Co also evaluating whether needs to restate historic financial information.

** Stock worst performer across FTSE 250, down 7 pct on volumes nearly half the 90-day average.

** Afren less in favour with the research community. On StarMine's Analyst Revisions Model, co scores 2, putting it way below Tullow Oil (LSE: TLW.L - news) & Cairn Energy & slightly below Soco International (LSE: SIA.L - news) & Genel Energy.

** Earlier this month, co fired CEO & three other top executives after an independent review into unauthorised payments found evidence of "gross misconduct".

** Afren sharply underperforms peers which are nonetheless in the red. Tullow down 3.1 pct, Cairn 2 pct weaker, Soco off 1.7 pct and Genel 2.1 pct lower. (RM (LSE: RM.L - news) ://tricia.wright1.thomsonreuters.com@reuters.net)
