BUZZ-Asia Resource Minerals: up on possible rival buyout offer

** Asia Resource Minerals Plc (LSE: ARMS.L - news) ' shares up 16 pct at 32.69 pence after a trust controlled by British financier Nat Rothschild and the parent of Russia's Siberian Coal Energy Co said late on Monday it is considering making a cash offer for the Indonesia-focused coal miner

** Stock is the top percentage gainer on the London Stock Exchange in early trading

** Shares (Berlin: DI6.BE - news) have more than doubled in the past week

** The company said on Tuesday its board intends to meet promptly to consider its position and would provide an update prior to its general meeting

** The potential offer from NR Holdings and SUEK Plc comes less than a week after ARMS received notice of a possible 210 million pound ($313 million) bid from Asia Coal Ventures (ACE), a vehicle funded by Indonesia's Sinarmas Groupoffer

** Company's annual shareholder meeting is scheduled for Wednesday
