BUZZ-CI Investments sharply cut SPDR Gold shares in Q3 2016 -13F
Nov 4 (Reuters) - CI Investments Inc, an investment manager of Toronto-based CI Financial Corp (Frankfurt: CF7.F - news) , reported in a 13F filing for the third-quarter period (July-September) of 2016, on Friday:
* Sharply cut stake in SPDR Gold Trust, the world's biggest gold exchange-traded fund (ETF), to 62,719 shares worth $7.88 million. This was down sharply from 9.4 million shares worth $1.19 billion at the end of June, when it was the second-biggest shareholder.
* Sharply raised stake in Barrick Gold Corp to 2.39 million shares worth $42.4 million, up from 64,225 shares in the second quarter
* Dissolved stake in Goldcorp Inc (Toronto: G.TO - news) by the end of September, after holding 2.94 million shares worth $56.3 million in the second quarter
* Holds stake steady in Randgold Resources Ltd at 22,200 shares worth $2.2 million, down from a value of $2.49 million the prior quarter
