BUZZ-Croda: up further on bid speculation

Reuters - UK Focus

** Chemical marketing co Croda International (Other OTC: COIHF - news) rises for the third straight day on bid speculation, up 4 pct in early trade, a rise of 6.5 pct WTD.

** Daily Mail and Daily Express say Tuesday's rise the result of rumours of a GBP 4 bln offer (current mkt cap 2.85 bln) from either Dow Chemical or Dupont, sending the stock up further on Wednesday. See: http://bit.ly/1rq78Qp

** Second-most traded on the Stoxx 600 at 80 pct of its 30-day average volume in the first 30 minutes of trade.

** "Croda remains vulnerable. Evonik in our mind also remains a possible acquirer but is not mentioned in the press," said a trader.

** Stock still down 16.1 pct in last year.
