BUZZ-Provident Financial: Satsuma unit profit warning weighs
** British subprime lender Provident Financial (Other OTC: FPLPY - news) (-1.9%) second biggest FTSE 100 loser after it downgrades current yr guidance for its online, short-term loans business Satsuma
** Expects Satsuma to make a small loss for the year
** The lender said in July that Satsuma would break-even in 2016. It had said in January that the unit would make a modest profit contribution in 2016
** Liberum says the downgrade is not material but slightly disappointing nonetheless ("hold" TP 2,595P)
** Co says overall Q3 profit performance in line with its internal plans
** Peel Hunt analysts say current share price is a fair balance between growth potential and any concern that an economic slowdown will impact on the rate of growth ("add" from "buy", TP 3,130p)
** Stock down 8.6 pct yr to Thursday close
** Provident Financial was founded in 1880 by an insurance agent who saw working class families struggling to pay for essentials such as shoes, clothes and furniture (Reuters Messaging: noor.hussain.thomsonreuters.com@reuters.net)
