BUZZ-RSA Insurance: to join global insurers exiting Asia

(.) RSA Insurance (LSE: RSA.L - news) is getting ready to exit Asia sources tell Reuters.

** Deal could fetch up to $500 million.

** Insurers considering bids include Sompo Japan Insurance, a unit of NKSJ Holdings (Other OTC: NHOLF - news) & France's AXA (Paris: FR0000120628 - news) .

** Australia's QBE Insurance Group and German insurer Allianz SE (Other OTC: ALIZF - news) also said to be weighing their options.

** RSA would join Aviva (Other OTC: AIVAF - news) , ING Groep (Amsterdam: INGA.AS - news) in trimming Asia exposure.

** RSA shares, up more than a fifth this year, have handily outperformed the FTSE 100.

** Shares up 1.2 percent on the day with about a third of an average day's volume changing hands till mid-morning.
