BUZZ-Strike to reduce diesel production at Shell's Pernis refinery -union

** Operations at the 65,000 barrels per day (bpd) CCR2 hydrocracker at Royal Dutch Shell (LSE: 0LN9.L - news) 's 404,000 bpd Pernis refinery will be reduced starting from 1500 GMT on Friday as part of industrial action, FNV union spokesman Egbert Schellenberg said.
** Capacity at the hydrocracker was expected to be reduced by around 20 percent, he said. The lower production would also impact other units, including the associated crude distillation unit.
** Talks between unions and Shell (LSE: RDSB.L - news) will resume on Monday after the sides were unable to bridge gaps over pay negotiations, he said.
** A Shell spokeswoman confirmed that part of the refinery's production will be impacted as of Friday but would not comment on specific units.
** Shell would still be able to meet contractual and delivery obligations for the moment, she added.
