BUZZ-Vodafone: up 2 pct after results, still stuck in narrow range

** Vodafone shares up 2 pct higher following quarterly results that showed improvements across major markets Germany and Britain

** Stock 2nd best performer on the FTSE 100 and gains coming on relatively healthy volumes with more than a 10th of a full-day's volume changing hands in the first 15 minutes

** Citi says Vodafone's 0.8 pct increase in organic service rev helped by better-than-expected performance in Europe as well as Africa, Middle East and Asia-Pacific ahead of broker's forecasts

** Vodafone shares stuck in a narrow range over past 6 weeks as investors await details of tie-up with Liberty Global (NasdaqGS: LBTYA - news) , likely the focus of co's conf call scheduled for 9am BST
