Canada's TD Bank appointed gold and silver market maker -LBMA
LONDON, March 25 (Reuters) - The Toronto Dominion Bank has been appointed the 15th market-making member of the London Bullion Market Association, effective from March 19, the LBMA said on Wednesday.
As a market maker, the Canadian bank will be obliged to offer two-way quotations in gold and silver forwards to other market makers throughout the London business day, providing market liquidity.
Standard Chartered (Other OTC: SCBFF - news) was the last to join the LBMA's list of forward market makers last month.
Total (Swiss: FP.SW - news) membership now stands at 146, the LBMA said, including 15 market making members. These include Barclays Bank, HSBC and UBS (NYSEArca: FBGX - news) .
