SACRAMENTO, CA--(Marketwired - October 02, 2014) - World Skateboarding Grand Prix -- the leading international skateboarding events management company -- today announced the Skateboarding World Championships at the Kimberley Diamond Cup, presented by Kumba Iron Ore, will be webcast LIVE online at www.KimberleyDiamondCup.com Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 4 and 5. The event will also be broadcast live on Supersport, South Africa's premier television network for sports coverage.

The growing list of countries participating in the 2014 Skateboarding World Championships include: Australia, Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic, Egypt, Ethiopia, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Lesotho, Malaysia, Mauritius Islands, Mexico, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Netherlands, Philippines, Reunion, Russia, South Africa, Swaziland, Thailand, Turkey, Uganda, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States and Vietnam.

The broadcast and webcast producer of the 2014 Skateboarding World Championships is Emmy-winning sports producer Peter Shakkour. A New York- based producer and director in sports television for the past 25 years, Shakkour has worked on every major sporting event in the United States, as well as eight Olympic games.

"Working here in Kimberley has been one of the great highlights of my career," said Shakkour. "Action sports has always been a passion of mine, and the opportunity to follow that passion to South Africa has been a truly unique and rewarding experience."

The official titles of the events in the 2014 Skateboarding World Championships at Kimberley Diamond Cup are the Women's Street Skateboarding World Championships, Vert Skateboarding World Championships, Street Skateboarding World Championships, Big Air World Championships, Big Air Gap Best Trick, Rider Cup Team Skateboarding World Championships. There are also four national championship events for South African skaters, including the South African Girl's Street Championships, South African Vert Championships, South African Street Championships and the South African Youth Street Championships.

The Skateboarding World Championships at the Kimberley Diamond Cup will also feature a headline performance by U.S. rapper Lil Jon on Saturday night as well as an exciting line-up of top South African performers including Ready D, LocnVille, Jed Nery and Prime Circle.
