Clifford Chance and Norton Rose Fulbright name London partners

CITY law firms Clifford Chance and Norton Rose Fulbright yesterday named a total of 17 new partners in their London office.

As part of a 21-strong round of promotions across 10 offices, Clifford Chance said that Caroline Meinertz, David Towers and Barry O’Shea – all senior associates in the London finance team – will become partners at the firm as of 1 May.

They will be joined by capital markets lawyer Maggie Zhao, real estate specialist Alis Pay, and litigation and dispute resolution duo Judith Seddon and Matthew Scully.

At Norton Rose Fulbright, 10 London lawyers will be promoted. In the corporate, M&A and securities team Sarah McKellar, Fiona Millington, James Russell, Marcus Evans and Imogen Garner will become partners, while Sarah Cullen and Chris Down will be moved up from the banking and finance practice.

They will be joined by Simon Ramsden and Matt Waudby in dispute resolution and litigation, and Mark Simpson from the antitrust and competition team.

In total, Norton Rose Fulbright will promote 46 lawyers across 19 offices around the world.
