CVR Refining shut FCC at Oklahoma refinery for 10 days in Q1
NEW YORK (Frankfurt: HX6.F - news) , May 1 (Reuters) - CVR Refining LP said on Thursday it shut the fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) unit at its 70,000-barrel-per-day Wynnewood, Oklahoma, refinery for 10 days of unscheduled work in first quarter 2014.
CVR did work on a "rose" unit, or residual oil supercritical extraction unit, originally planned for the second quarter, during the unplanned shutdown of the Wynnewood FCC, John Lipinski, CVR Refining's chief executive officer and president, told a conference call discussing first-quarter earnings.
April operations were, "excellent," Lipinski added.
The company said its first-quarter cost for Renewable Identification Numbers (RINs), or ethanol blending credits, was about $34 million. RINs are paper credits used to meet quotas for blending biofuel into gasoline and diesel. (Reporting by Robert Gibbons)
