Appointment of Directors
The Minister for Transport (Euronext: IXSTP.NX - news) , Tourism and Sport ("the Minister"), Dr Leo Varadkar TD, has appointed John Lynch and Colm McCarthy, and re-appointed Gerry Walsh, to the board of Dublin Airport Authority plc ("DAA").
John Lynch heads the Europe (Chicago Options: ^REURUSD - news) and African marketing operations at the aircraft leasing company BBAM and is managing director at its Zurich office. Colm McCarthy is a Lecturer at the School of Economics, University College Dublin. Mr McCarthy chaired the Review Group on State Assets and Liabilities and the Special Group on Public Service Numbers and Expenditure Programmes which reported to the Minister for Finance in 2011 and 2009 respectively. Gerry Walsh is an independent business adviser who provides strategic support to the boards and senior management teams of a number of Irish and international companies. He was originally appointed to the board of DAA in November (Stuttgart: A0Z24E - news) 2008.
