Dr. Deepak Chopra Attempts to Set Guinness World Record for Largest Meditation Gathering
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Jul 17, 2014) - On Friday, August 8, Dr. Deepak Chopra will attempt to set the Guinness World Record for the largest group meditation in history. Special guests Gabrielle Bernstein and singer-songwriter India Arie will join Dr. Chopra in his attempt to lead a meditation to thousands of yoga and meditation enthusiasts from around the world.
"Our intention behind hosting the world's largest meditation is to use the power of the group to exponentially magnify the benefits of the course for each individual, and to explore the collective benefit that emerges when people from all around the world come together in meditation with the single intention of peace," said Dr. Deepak Chopra. "We selected Toronto as the host city for the Global Meditation based on the strong connection Torontonians have to both meditation and yoga."
The Global Meditation will take place at the tail end of Deepak's signature retreat, Seduction of Spirit. Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter India Arie will perform leading up to and during the Global Meditation. Meditation and yoga practitioners will have the opportunity to join the guided meditation both in-person and virtually via live stream. To successfully take the Guinness title, the meditation will have to draw 15K participants.
