Dutch spot gas prices surge almost 6 pct on Bergermeer outage
Dec (Shanghai: 600875.SS - news) 12 (Reuters) - Dutch gas prices for day-ahead delivery surged 5.9 percent on Monday afternoon after the Bergermeer gas storage site was unexpectedly shut due to an outage.
The contract was trading on the TTF gas hub at 17.58 euros per MWh by 1603 GMT, almost one euro higher than the previous settlement.
Dutch gas storage site Bergermeer was shut as a precaution after problems with one of the valves in the slugcatcher system, its operator Taqa said, adding that the likely duration of the outage was unknown. (Reporting by Nerijus Adomaitis in Oslo; editing by David Clarke (Toronto: CKI.TO - news) )
