Europe Gasoline/Naphtha-Cracks edge down, inventories build

LONDON, Nov 9 (Reuters) - Gasoline refining margins in northwest Europe edged lower on Wednesday, after data showed a large build up in regional inventories last month and crude futures gained.

* Brent crude futures rose 38 cents on the day to $46.42 a barrel by 1845 GMT, having pared earlier losses triggered by the surprise win by Republican candidate Donald Trump in the U.S. presidential election, which initially roiled financial markets.

* European refiners' crude intake in October was 2.8 percent lower than a year earlier at 10.36 million barrels a day, data from industry monitor Euroilstock showed on Wednesday.

* The report showed an 8.5 percent rise in gasoline stocks from a year earlier and a monthly increase of 1.4 percent.

* The build came in stark contrast to a drop in gasoline stocks in the United States, where weekly data showed refineries increased runs in the latest week.

* U.S. government data showed gasoline stocks fell 2.8 million barrels, surpassing expectations in a Reuters poll for a 1 million-barrel drop, while refinery runs rose by 369,000 bpd.

* In refinery news, BP is on track to finish the overhaul of a 90,000 barrel per day (bpd) crude distillation unit at its 413,500 bpd Whiting, Indiana, refinery within the next two weeks, sources familiar with the plant's operations said late on Tuesday. The work began on Sept. 20.

* Rolympus sold to Total a barge of premium unleaded gasoline at $457 a tonne fob ARA, down from $462 a tonne on Tuesday.

* The December swap stood at around $442 a tonne at the close, down from $447 a tonne the day before.
