Europe Gasoline/Naphtha-Cracks gain on stronger exports to U.S.

LONDON, Aug 26 (Reuters) - Gasoline refining margins in northwest Europe rose on Friday to above $9 a barrel amid increased exports to the U.S (Other OTC: UBGXF - news) . East Coast due to refinery outages.

* Gasoline tanker bookings from Europe to the U.S. East Coast accelerated in recent days as unplanned refinery outages and fear that tropical storms could batter refineries along the Gulf Coast would tighten supplies.

* Around 1.8 million tonnes of gasoline and naphtha have been booked on the transatlantic route to load in August, according to Reuters data.

* Gasoline stocks independently held in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp oil hub rose by over 6 percent in the week to Thursday, Dutch consultancy PJK International said.

* But the upcoming European autumn refinery maintenance season is expected to help soak up some of the supply excess.

* European refinery turnarounds are set to peak at around 1.1 million barrels per day (bpd) in mid-September, less than half the volume that was out during the same period last year but globally, the turnaround outage will be larger at roughly 7 percent of global refinery throughput .

* Shell (LSE: RDSB.L - news) said it expected increased flaring at its 404,000 barrels-per-day Pernis refinery in the Netherlands on Friday evening, linked to a unit coming online.

GASOLINE

* There were no Eurobob trades during the afternoon trading window. Bids were seen at $493 a tonne fob ARA.

* Some 16,000 tonnes traded throughout the day at $487-$497 a tonne fob Amsterdam-Rotterdam, compared with $478-$485 a tonne on Thursday. Gunvor, Glencore (Xetra: A1JAGV - news) and Statoil (LSE: 0M2Z.L - news) sold to Rolympus, Statoil and Shell.

* Rolympus sold to Total (LSE: 524773.L - news) and Shell two barges of premium unleaded gasoline at $508 a tonne fob ARA, up from $503 a tonne.

* The September swap stood at around $498 a tonne at the close, up from $490 a tonne.

* Gasoline barge refining margins rose to $9.01 a barrel from $8.02 a barrel.

* Brent crude oil futures were up 38 cents at $50.05 a barrel by 1533 GMT.

* U.S. August RBOB gasoline futures were flat at 1.5113 a gallon.

* The U.S. gasoline crack (RB-CL1=R) was trading at $12.08 a barrel, down from $12.33 a barrel.

* No cargoes traded.
