Gandi Lends Its Logo to Support Creative Commons, Electronic Frontier Foundation and Other Open Causes

SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - Apr 24, 2014) - Leading domain name registrar and hosting provider Gandi announced today it is using its logo in combination with those of notable community-oriented organizations to raise funds through the sale of t-shirts on its web site to support projects by Creative Commons, Electronic Frontier Foundation, Geeklist, WWF, VLC and FIDH, among others.

"Gandi's commitment to fostering communities of people sharing ideas, driving innovation and advocating for a free and open Internet is getting a boost," said Thomas Stocking, San Francisco-based COO of Gandi. "Our goal is to support projects that positively affect as many people as possible, or that allow a community to expand their horizons."

Gandi routinely donates to projects that are concrete, open and alternative like Creative Commons and the Electronic Frontier Foundation. The company also sponsors hackathons, meetups, and open source software projects.

"One of the best things about Gandi is that they are generous and fair," said Reuben Katz, CEO of Geeklist, which creates a social network where technical people can share their accomplishments.
