Go-Ahead in US school bus JV

LONDON (ShareCast) - Bus and train operator Go-ahead Group has formed a joint venture to pitch for school bus contracts in and around Chicago in the USA.

Go-Ahead and Cook-Illinois, an established, school bus operator based near Chicago, will have equal stakes in the joint venture.

Keith Ludeman, chief executive of Go-Ahead, said the joint venture represents ‘an excellent, low risk and financially disciplined way for us to gradually build an operation in this strategically attractive market.’

At present the joint venture does not operate any contracts and thus involves no significant financial commitments on the part of either partner.
