LinkedIn to launch social corporate app Elevate

LONDON (ShareCast) - US social-media company Linkedin on Monday announced its new corporate app Elevate (Other OTC: ELEV - news) , which allows companies to share content.

The app, to be available on desktop and mobile, encourages employees to publish news from their companies and lets users suggest stories via Twitter (Xetra: A1W6XZ - news) and LinkedIn.

"That's not surprising given employees have 10 times more connections than their company has followers, and people tend to be considered more authentic than companies," said Linkedin's Will Sun on the company's blog.

The analytics feature will provide insights on sharing articles, on increasing website traffic, boosting sales and hiring new staff.

The company ran a private pilot with several large companies that included Unilever (NYSE: UL - news) , Adobe and Quintiles at the beginning of 2015, and the app will become available to the public in the third quarter of the year.
