LyondellBasell says Houston refinery running above nameplate capacity

NEW YORK, July 25 (Reuters) - LyondellBasell Industries (NYSE: LYB - news) on Friday said its 268,000-barrel-per-day (bpd) refinery in Houston is currently running above nameplate capacity and has run close to 300,000 bpd in recent days.

Lyondell officials made the comments during a conference call to discuss the company's second-quarter 2014 earnings. Lyondell said the refinery's throughput in the second quarter was 257,000 bpd, up from 247,000 bpd in the first quarter.

Nameplate capacity is the rated capacity by the manufacturer of a unite or production equipment. (Reporting by Robert Gibbons; editing by Andrew Hay)
