A case of maggot-infested fruit has triggered a recall at supermarket Asda.
The chain advised customers who bought 250g packs of its Wholefoods Garland Figs to return them.
The packs carried a best-before date of July 31 2010 and were priced at £1.38.
The product barcode number was 050854916182.
In a statement, Asda said: "We are recalling Asda Wholefoods Garland Figs 250g because some customers have found maggots in them.
"Clearly this isn't right.
"We're sorry this has happened and are busy getting to the bottom of it with our supplier to make sure it will never happen again."
Customers were told to return the figs to any Asda store to receive a refund.
