KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 20 (Reuters) - Malaysia's consumer price index
rose 1.3 percent in January from a year earlier, stronger than expected and
higher than in December, data from the Statistics Department showed on
Wednesday.
Economists polled by Reuters had predicted that the annual inflation rate
would hold steady from December's near three-year lows, but economists expect
price pressures to pick-up in the coming months when post-election measures kick
in.
