MHI Vestas receives 330 MW order from DONG in UK project

COPENHAGEN, Dec 16 (Reuters) - MHI Vestas, a joint venture between Vestas and Japan's Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (Other OTC: MHVYF - news) , has received a 330 megawatt order from DONG Energy for the Walney Extension West project in Britain, Vestas said on Wednesday.

The order, from fellow Danish company DONG Energy, was for 40 of MHI Vestas' largest wind turbines, V164-8.0, and includes the commissioning of the turbines as well as a five-year service contract, the company said.

"The project will be delivered by MHI Vestas Offshore Wind and will not enter into the order backlog of Vestas Wind Systems (Other OTC: VWDRY - news) A/S (Other OTC: UBGXF - news) ," Vestas said in a statement.
