Motiva Convent, La. Refinery to begin HCU work Monday -sources

HOUSTON, July 7 (Reuters) - Motiva Enterprises 235,000-barrel-per-day (bpd) Convent, Louisiana, refinery plans to begin an overhaul of a portion of the heavy-oil hydrocracking unit on Monday, said sources familiar with the refinery's plans.

The entire 45,000-bpd hydrocracker, called the H-Oil Unit, is expected to be out of production for about two days during which a tower on the unit is isolated, the sources said.

If the isolation of the tower is successful, the remainder of the H-Oil Unit will return to production while the overhaul continues for about a month.

A Motiva representative was not immediately available to discuss operations at the refinery. (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by Jeffrey Benkoe)
