Northern Tier plans Minnesota refinery Q4 2014 hydrotreater catalyst change

NEW YORK, Aug 5 (Reuters) - Northern Tier Energy said on Tuesday it plans a fourth-quarter 2014 catalyst change in a gas oil hydrotreater at its 89,500-barrel-per-day (bpd) refinery in St. Paul Park, Minnesota.

The throughput for the St. Paul Park refinery in the third quarter of 2014 is expected to be from 90,000 to 95,000 bpd, company officials said on a conference call with analysts.

The refinery is rated at 89,500 barrels per calendar day and 96,500 barrels per stream day. Barrels per stream day is the maximum number of barrels a refinery can process within a 24-hour period when running at full capacity under optimal crude and product slate conditions with no allowance for downtime.
