NORWAY GAS-Exports gain on higher flows to Britain

* Norway gas exports total 314 mcm/d * Flows to Britain rise by 10 mcm/d OSLO, April 4 (Reuters) - Norwegian pipeline gas exports rose slightly on Thursday morning compared with the previous day, mainly due to higher flows to Britain, data from gas system operator Gassco showed. Total (NYSE: TOT - news) deliveries to Europe, including Britain, were at 314 million cubic metres (mcm) per day by 0815 GMT, compared with a daily average of 307 mcm on Wednesday. Gas exports to Britain, Europe's most traded gas market, gained by 10 mcm to 108 mcm, with the 72 mcm capacity Langeled pipeline running at a rate of 62 mcm per day. British spot gas prices rose on Wednesday as cold weather and low storage kept the system tight although supply from liquefied natural gas (LNG) helped meet high demand. Combined gas supplies to the Netherlands and Germany were steady at 135 mcm on Thursday, while deliveries to Belgium slipped by 4 mcm to 32 mcm. Flows to France were up by 2 mcm to 39 mcm. Gassco has previously said that Norwegian gas flows could be potentially reduced by 40 mcm per day from April 1 until April 20 due to field maintenance. The export figures are based on gas fed into the system at a certain time and calculated to a daily average. Volumes can change throughout the day as producers adjust the amount of gas they pump.
