NORWAY GAS-Exports surge as Norway ramps up output after outages

* Exports to Europe total 287 mcm/day

* Flows to Britain rise by 20 mcm/day

OSLO, May 11 (Reuters) - Norwegian gas exports to Europe

surged on Monday from last Friday as production ramped up after

several gas field outages ended over the weekend, including at

the country's biggest gas field Troll.

Total (Swiss: FP.SW - news) pipeline gas flows were running at a rate of 287

million cubic metres (mcm) per day by 0900 GMT, 73 mcm up from

volumes delivered on Friday, data from gas system operator

Gassco showed.

Supplies to Britain rose by 20 mcm/day, mainly due to higher

deliveries into FLAGS pipeline, which transports gas from

Norwegian and British gas fields to St Fergus.

Gas production capacity at the BP-operated Skarv

field remained down by over 8 mcm on Monday, and was expected to

be down by a similar volume on Tuesday.

Norway has a total gas production capacity of about 350

mcm/day, but it is usually lower during summer months when

maintenance takes place.

The following table shows Norwegian gas pipeline flows

measured in mcm/day and compared with the previous session's

delivered volumes:

Destination Real time Pvs business Change

day (mcm)

Britain 55 35 20

Germany & Netherlands 147 115 32

France 46 35 11

Belgium 39 29 10

Total 287 214 73

NOTE (Stockholm: NOTE.ST - news) : Real-time gas export figures are based on gas fed into the

system at a certain time and calculated as a daily average.

Levels can vary throughout the day as producers adjust the

amount of gas they export, according to changing nominations, or

orders, from customers.

Volumes for the previous business day show delivered gas.
