NORWAY GAS-Maintenance fails to dent exports
* Norway's pipeline gas exports total 319 mcm/day
* Langeled flows inch up as Vesterled drops to zero
OSLO, Oct 23 (Reuters) - Norwegian natural gas flows to Europe were
unchanged on Thursday morning from the previous day, despite a gas field
maintenance, data from gas system operator Gassco showed.
The maintenance was expected to cut Norwegian production capacity by 24
mcm/day from Thursday, but since Norway has a spare capacity it may not have an
immediate impact on flows.
Supplies through the Langeled pipeline, Britain's main subsea gas import
route, inched up by 2 mcm/day to 58 million cubic metres (mcm) by 0830 GMT,
offsetting a drop in deliveries via the Vesterled pipeline.
The total Norwegian gas production capacity is around 350 mcm/day.
The following table shows Norwegian pipeline gas flows, measured in mcm per
day, compared with the previous session's average:
Destination Real time Pvs session Change
average (mc)
Britain 81 80 1
Germany & Netherlands 146 146 0
France 51 51 0
Belgium 41 41 0
Total 319 318 1
NOTE: Pipeline gas export figures are based on gas fed into the system at a
certain time and calculated as a daily average. Levels can vary throughout the
day as producers adjust the amount of gas they export, according to changing
nominations, or orders, from customers.
