NORWAY GAS-St Fergus outage cuts exports to Britain
* Norway's pipeline gas exports total 176 mcm/day
* Flows to Belgium shut due to one-day maintenance
OSLO, Sept 16 (Reuters) - Norway's pipeline gas exports to Britain fell
sharply on Tuesday as flows via the FLAGS pipeline dropped to zero, and
deliveries to Belgium stopped due to a planned maintenance, data from gas system
operator Gassco showed.
Deliveries via FLAGS pipeline were down due to an overnight outage at
Shell (LSE: RDSB.L - news) 's receiving terminal at St Fergus, analysts at Thomson Reuters
Point Carbon said.
Flows to Belgium dropped to zero from 39 million cubic metres (mcm) per day
on Monday. They were expected to return to normal on Wednesday morning.
The following table shows Norwegian pipeline gas flows, measured in million
cubic metres/day, compared with the previous session's average:
Destination Real time Pvs session Change
average (mcm)
Britain 21 40 -19
Germany & Netherlands 128 114 14
France 27 27 0
Belgium 0 39 -39
Total 176 220 -44
NOTE: Pipeline gas export figures are based on gas fed into the system at a
certain time and calculated as a daily average. Levels can vary throughout the
day as producers adjust the amount of gas they export, according to changing
nominations, or orders, from customers.
