Percona Names Will Eglin as CFO and Dorothee Wuest as VP of Sales EMEA and Promotes Rob Young to EVP of Products and Services

DURHAM, NC--(Marketwired - Oct 14, 2014) - Percona, the company that makes MySQL faster and more reliable, today announced two key appointments, Will Eglin as chief financial officer and Dorothée Wuest as vice president of sales EMEA. Percona has also promoted Rob Young to executive vice president of products and services. The new appointments will support the company during a period of rapid growth around the world.

Will Eglin has nearly 20 years of financial management, operational, and leadership experience at fast-growing high technology and professional services organizations. His experience includes publicly traded, private equity-backed and closely-held enterprises. Before joining the team at Percona, Eglin was the CFO at IEM, a global homeland security and emergency management consulting firm. He has also served as the CEO and CFO of MD Technologies, a publicly traded software-as-a-service healthcare technology company that developed proprietary, web-based administrative software and revenue cycle management solutions for physician practices. Eglin also held financial roles in fast-growing private equity-backed businesses, and began his career on the audit staff at KPMG. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Louisiana State University and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs. A licensed CPA in North Carolina, Eglin currently serves on the Board of the RTP CFO Forum and the Advisory Board of Band Together.

Dorothée Wuest is a dynamic, focused and highly motivated sales professional with a 10-year track record of achievement in new business sales within high-growth markets throughout Europe. Prior to Percona, Wuest held multiple sales positions at Oracle Corp., most recently as a regional manager in France, where she developed and executed annual sales plans and strategies for MySQL OEM sales. Her strategies to develop and expand sales resulted in a 300 percent sales increase between 2011 and 2013. Prior to Oracle, Wuest held positions in Inside Sales at MySQL AB and Renewal Sales at Novell. She attended the Universities of Fulda and Göttingen in Germany as an Erasmus Student, and received a Master of International Trade from ESCI in France.

Rob Young has more than 15 years of experience in commercial and open source software development and product strategy and management. Prior to his promotion at Percona, he was senior director of product management. Before joining Percona, Young helped grow the technical product management role at MongoDB. Prior to MongoDB, he worked with the engineering and product management teams at MySQL AB, Sun Microsystems and Oracle to develop the MySQL open source database and to build the MySQL Enterprise subscription business model that prompted Sun's $1 billion acquisition of MySQL AB in 2008. Before joining MySQL, Young was a founding member of the product management team that developed and managed the Embarcadero Technologies database administration and monitoring tools product line. He has also served as a technical leader, application developer and operational DBA with multiple corporations across the public utilities, transportation, banking and insurance industries. Young holds an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science/Mathematics from the University of Kentucky and a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics/Mathematics from the University of Louisville.
