RosettaBooks and Worldreader Partner for Holiday eBook Promotion to Support Global Literacy

152 Discounted eBooks From Bestselling Authors, 10% of Promotion Proceeds Donated to Worldreader

NEW YORK, NY and SAN FRANCISCO, CA--(Marketwired - December 02, 2014) - This holiday season, RosettaBooks and Worldreader are teaming up to help Worldreader fill classrooms in Africa with e-books. Using e-readers, mobile phones and other digital technology, Worldreader provides digital books to children and families in the developing world. Since 2010, over 250,000 people a month have read more than 2 million books using Worldreader's reading platforms.

Today, leading independent eBook publisher RosettaBooks kicked off its month-long #WeReadBecause: Never Underestimate the Power of a Good Book campaign, discounting 152 eBooks to $3.99 and under. RosettaBooks will donate 10% of the campaign proceeds to Worldreader's mission to bring digital books to every child and their family, so that they can improve their lives.

eBook deals include several bestselling authors and eBooks, including Stephen Covey's The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, A Woman of Substance by Barbara Taylor Bradford, William Shirer's The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich, Cat's Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut, and several more eBooks by Arthur C. Clarke, M.C. Beaton, Ridley Pearson, Robert Graves, Dave Pelzer and Charles Schultz.

"To us it might just be a wonderful book, but to the kids and families in the Worldreader program, it's life-changing," said Arthur Klebanoff, CEO of RosettaBooks.

RosettaBooks has been a supporter of Worldreader's efforts by making 135 of its bestselling books available. Today RosettaBooks also announced that those books would be made available as well through Worldreader Mobile, a free mobile reading application optimized for inexpensive cell phones to reach children, families and adults on devices they already own.

"Worldreader actively looks for partners like RosettaBooks who share our mission of books for all," said Dani Zacarias, Senior Digital Publishing Manager of Worldreader. "We believe that, in time, it will be because of publishers like RossettaBooks that illiteracy becomes a thing of the past the world over. We're excited to get thousands more children and families reading."
