HOUSTON, Sept 16 (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell Plc (LSE: RDSA.L - news) 's 327,000 barrel per day (bpd) joint-venture Deer Park, Texas was continuing work on Tuesday on the plant's 70,000 bpd gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit, said sources familiar with refinery operations.

The Deer Park refinery shut the FCCU on Aug. 16 for repairs that were thought might extend up to two months, sources told Reuters at the time.

The Deer Park refinery is a 50-50 joint venture between Shell (LSE: RDSB.L - news) and Mexico's national oil company Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX). (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by David Gregorio)
