Shell JV Deer Park refinery pushes back FCCU restart -sources

(Adds Shell statement, paragraph 3)

HOUSTON, Oct 7 (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell Plc (LSE: RDSA.L - news) 's 327,000 barrel per day (bpd), joint-venture Deer Park, Texas, refinery has pushed back the planned restart of its 70,000 bpd gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit to the end of the week, sources familiar with refinery operations said on Tuesday.

Shell (LSE: RDSB.L - news) had planned to restart the FCCU, which has been shut for repairs since an Aug. 18 breakdown, over the weekend, but the return to production has been held up by the delay in delivery of materials needed to complete the repairs, the sources said.

A Shell spokeswoman said the company had no update about maintenance underway since mid-August at the Deer Park refinery. While the company has said work was being performed on a production unit, Shell has not identified the unit.

The Deer Park refinery is a 50-50 joint venture between Shell and Mexico's national oil company Petroleos Mexicanos (PEMEX). (Reporting by Erwin Seba; Editing by James Dalgleish)
