Shell JV Deer Park refinery restarting gasoline unit - sources
HOUSTON, Oct 21 (Reuters) - Royal Dutch Shell Plc (Xetra: R6C1.DE - news) 's joint-venture 327,000 barrel per day (bpd) Deer Park, Texas, refinery was restarting its 70,000 bpd gasoline-producing fluidic catalytic cracking unit on Tuesday, said sources familiar with operations at the refinery.
The Deer Park refinery has been working to repair the FCCU and restore it to production since an Aug. 18 breakdown.
The FCCU's restart has twice been delayed in the previous two weeks in part due to delays in receiving parts needed to complete the work. Operators have also been synchronizing different sections of the unit, the sources said.
