Six New Homes Break Ground at Summer Hill

Phase II Now Underway

MANCHESTER, MA--(Marketwired - Jul 29, 2014) - Windover Construction is pleased to announce the second phase of construction has begun with the recent groundbreaking for six new homes at the Manchester-by-the-Sea Summer Hill neighborhood. The anticipated completion date is spring 2015.

Created through a cluster zoning ordinance to encourage the permanent preservation of open space, Summer Hill sits on the site of one of the North Shore's legendary summer estates. Surrounded by over 14 acres of conservation land and gathered around a village green, the three and four-bedroom homes range in size from 3,480 to 4,125 square feet. Deeded right-of-way to the beach, walking trails, and breathtaking ocean views add to the desirability of this new neighborhood. The completed first phase consists of six homes with 30% sold or under contract.

Designed by Beverly architectural firm Siemasko + Verbridge, Summer Hill's homes are constructed with energy efficient technology and such desirable features as a 1st floor master suite, Viking kitchen appliances, a convenient mudroom and a spacious three-season screened porch. Eco-friendly features include a common septic system that virtually eliminates nitrogen discharge, and a system of "rain gardens" designed to reduce nitrogen and phosphorous from storm water. Two model homes from Phase I, currently open for viewing, are impeccably decorated by the award-winning interior design firm Timeless Interiors of South Hamilton, MA.

"With the much publicized housing shortage in and around Boston, prospective home buyers are looking outside the city and realizing the benefits associated with this area," states Lee Dellicker, president of Windover Construction. "Manchester-by-the-Sea offers direct rail service right into Boston, a superb school system, beautiful beaches, great local shops and restaurants, and the lowest tax rate on the North Shore. It is a great area for families or those just looking for a seaside home."
