Statoil drills dry well in Barents Sea

OSLO, Sept 11 (Reuters) - Norwegian energy firm Statoil drilled a dry well in the Arctic Barents Sea, around 105 kilometres northeast of Hammerfest, the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate said on Thursday.

Statoil (Xetra: 675213 - news) and Cairn Energy (LSE: CNE.L - news) unit Capricorn (BSE: CAPRICORN.BO - news) each hold 25 percent of the licence, state holding firm Petoro and Concedo each have 20 percent and Austria's OMV owns 10 percent. (Reporting by Balazs Koranyi, editing by Terje Solsvik)
