Shares in Alcatel (Paris: FR0000130007 - news) rise more than 5 percent - the biggest gainer on France's blue-chip index - after the telecom equipment maker announces a one-year contract worth up to 750 million with China Mobile (Berlin: CTM.BE - news) .

The French telecom equipment maker will sell China mobile so-called IP networking and fourth-generation mobile gear under a year-long framework agreement, Alcatel said in a statement on Thursday.

China Mobile is the world's largest mobile operator and reaches more than 750 million subscribers across the country.
