STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-Suedzucker rises as profit beats market view

Shares in German sugar refiner Suedzucker (Other OTC: SUEZF - news) rise 7.7 percent to the top of Frankfurt's MDAX midcap index after traders point to higher-than-expected results for its fiscal third quarter.

Operating profit for the period reaches 182.9 million euros ($250 million), beating a 150 million euro forecast in a Reuters poll of banks and brokerages.

Shares in the company are down about a third since the beginning of last year, compared with a 40 percent rise on the German MDAX over the same period.
