STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps gain 0.3 pct by midday
The junior-listed FTSE AIM share index and small caps gain 0.1 percent and 0.3 percent respectively, against a 0.3 percent gain for mid-caps and a 0.4 percent rise for large caps.
Power solutions company APR Energy (Other OTC: APRYF - news) rises 5 percent after saying it has won a new 12-month contract in Angola. Featuring GE mobile gas turbines, the deal represents APR's first turbine project in sub-Saharan Africa, and follows the GE strategic alliance announced in October.
Electricals retailer Darty (LSE: DRTY.L - news) rises 8.6 percent after UBS (Xetra: UB0BL6 - news) raises its stance on the stock to "buy" from "neutral" and its target price to 135 pence from 80 pence.
