STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps flat by midday trading

The FTSE small cap index is flat while the junior-listed FTSE AIM All Share Index edges up by 0.1 percent in mid-session trade, tracking a 0.2 percent gain on the FTSE 100 blue-chip index and a 0.3 percent rise on the FTSE 250 mid-cap index.

Amara Mining (Other OTC: CLUGF - news) rises 16.7 percent to 14 pence after the company reports an increase in mineral resources at its Yaoure gold project site in Ivory Coast.

The positive findings lead Canaccord Genuity (Other OTC: CCORF - news) to increase its price target on Amara Mining to 32 pence from 25 pence. It also maintains a "buy" rating on the stock.

The London-listed shares of Indonesia's Bumi Resources (Jakarta: BUMI.JK - news) also rise 4.6 percent, tracking gains in the company's stock price in Indonesia after Bumi Resources won the consent of its bondholders to change its debt indentures.

Botswana Diamonds (LSE: BOD.L - news) falls 15.7 percent after issuing 21.6 million new shares at a discount price to raise 540,000 pounds ($881,600) in cash.
