STOCKS NEWS EUROPE-UK small caps fall, tracking weaker blue-chips
The FTSE Small Cap index falls 0.5 percent, with the blue-chip FTSE 100 index closing 0.3 percent lower while the FTSE 250 mid-cap index declines by 0.1 percent.
The FTSE AIM All Share Index ends 0.1 percent higher.
Quindell (LSE: QPP.L - news) rises 13.6 percent after Canaccord Genuity (Other OTC: CCORF - news) raises its target price for the stock to 75 pence from 45 pence and reiterates its "buy" rating.
Walker Greenbank (LSE: WGB.L - news) gains 2.4 percent after the luxury interior furnishings group says its performance in the second-half of the year has been stronger than the first half.
"We believe the group is now very well placed to deliver growth, with a unique platform of manufacturing skills and design-led brands to target international expansion, extension into complementary products via licensing, and increase penetration in existing markets, including the UK where recovery is building," N+1 Singer writes in a note.
