Appointment of Director

Stratex International Plc, the AIM-quoted exploration and development company focussed on gold and base metals in Turkey, East Africa and West Africa, is pleased to announce that John Cole-Baker has been appointed as an Executive Director with effect from 7^th February 2012.

John Cole-Baker was appointed following the acquisition of Silvrex Limited where he was Chairman and Managing Director. John has gained over 40 years of experience in infrastructure and mining projects throughout the world. He has been involved at various levels up to Project Director for infrastructure and mining development, as well as projects aimed at restructuring governmental organisations in Africa, Europe (Chicago Options: ^REURUSD - news) , the Former Soviet Union, the Middle East and the Indian sub-continent. He graduated in Civil engineering from Queen's University, Belfast and subsequently earned a Master's degree at Imperial College, London. He brings to Stratex his extensive international experience of working in diverse countries and of negotiating mining agreements and is fluent in French and has a good working knowledge of Spanish. He has a strong a background in project management and as a Director of consultancy companies and over the years has developed a close understanding of government organisations in Africa and elsewhere. John will be responsible primarily for the Company's operations in West Africa where he already has extensive knowledge and experience.

John Richard Cole-Baker, aged 64, currently holds, and has held (including all appointments during the five years preceding the date of this announcement), the following directorships and partnerships, other than of the Company:

John Cole-Baker, along with related parties, holds 597,456 shares in Stratex.

There is no further information to be disclosed under Schedule 2 (g) of the AIM rules.
